June has been a roller coaster. 10th, 11th and 12th. 

Covid-19

I started working from home from 3/2/2020 (half-day). Official WFH started from 3/4/2020. Abhishek started working from home from 3/10/2020. Schools & Daycare closed from 3/16/2020.

As I type this US has 337,635 cases and 9647 deaths.Global cases are at 1,274, 956 and global deaths are at 69,487. Source - covid-19 Map

These are all official numbers and actuals could be more. 

Laws of Universe

It does give me great comfort to know that universe is just. It's just because it follows the laws - just because we ignore those laws or care less to know about them does not mean they do not exist or play out.

These laws are as true as the law of gravity whose impact can be visualized. Just as a fruit will always fall on the ground or a river will flow downstream, the state a person finds himself in at any given time is a direct result of common universal laws. Pay attention.

We have to look within and we have to see the patterns. 

1914 vs 2020

We are witnessing our own version of 'The Guns of August'. I had read it in 2009 and reading it I was surprised about how foolishly that war was started, managed and led by the leaders. It was news to me that world leadership was so flawed - all at the same time and it led to massive loss of human lives.

And lo behold! Here we are in 2020 and current world leadership looks no different. US, UK, Brazil, Russia, China, Japan, Italy, France, India and the rest. Personal egos, competitions, greed, power and stupidity is at play. Long term propaganda against facts all over the world is coming home to roost. Most of the prominent governments are Right Wing and majority of the citizens are somehow enamored by these leaders. They can follow their leaders to their death. It is unbelievable how fanatic everyone is about their ideas, religions, beliefs in the face of a quickly spreading pandemic.

So the generation in 2020 is in no way more sensible than the generation in 1914. We are stupider because we have not learnt from the past. We don't study history as seriously, we ignore the patterns, we do not care.

If there was just one thing we need to learn from all of this is that humanity is fragile and 'doing the right thing' never goes out of fashion.

So, probably one the Ray's movies that I could not watch. Do not recall why. I should have just checked YouTube.

Anyways given what is happening around us and how humans react to things, logical folks can seem to be overreacting or can be branded. Truth has to be presented in a format that can be consumed by the masses or not be presented at all. People and their opinions have to be aligned and worked upon.

Quarantine

Oh my! I could get used to this quarantine life. Gives me time to think and be. 

Love

Love happens when thoughts, action and words are aligned with purest of intent for the other person. Every relationship that we have has a clear cut intention that plays out the consequences. The outcome of a relationship is decided the minute one gets involved in it - with what intentions. 

Love requires innocence and love requires understanding. It requires mutual respect and it requires space. It cannot have agenda, it cannot be pushed, it cannot be wished / created at will and it definitely cannot be planned.  

People often forget the choices they made at the start of a relationship. They forget to take responsibility of their own choice. They blame everyone but themselves. Always recall what started something - did it have truly have what it would take? 

Life Principles

Principle 1 - check your intention as that decides the outcome
Principle 2 - present moment is where you are
Principle 3 - awareness of self and pure self love
Principle 4 - only self can be controlled/changed/managed and what others do is none of your business

Me

I am loving the quarantine. I don’t say it out loud because everyone seems to be hating it so much. I don’t mind it because it has automatically canceled all social events for me. I can live my life with my bare essentials and that includes people. I have only realized how liberating it is to stop doing things - things that would be frowned upon in social norms. These small pressures are not needed actually for any of us. But we have made them necessary for us so that we can be recognized as the functioning adults of this world. I don’t want to be the normal functioning adult. Let everyone else do that. I am happy being me - whatever that is 🤷‍♀️👩🏻 

Kurosawa

Phase 2 of Kurosawa starts. I joined Criterion Collections so that I could watch the ones I could not do - back in 2008-2009 via Netflix (online and on CDs). On my list to begin with:

High and Low was the last one I saw with all the essential ones like Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Ran, Yojimbo, Iriku, Kagemusha, Throne of Blood, The Hidden Fortress, Sanjuro, The Idiot and The Dreams.

I’d have liked 3 folks to have met. It would’ve been fun to observe.
It is impossible in every way now. 🙄😁

Mad World

I don’t remember the song but I recall the lyrics from a long time ago. Someone I knew, sang it to me or did he make me listen to it? I was not equipped to understand or help them. But I could sense the confusion and the struggle - though I’d attribute it to their flair for drama and need for attention. I always thought they knew what they were doing or at least hoped for it.

Pure

Our purpose in anyone's life is to make them think and lead by example. So just by being ourselves, we are doing the task. Just by being our true self, we are purifying our soul and everyone who comes in contact will learn. They have no choice but to notice the difference.

Whatever the ego teaches or the conditional upbringing or experiences are picked up - they all melt away when we come face to face with a pure soul.
