"This miracle of me is mine to own and keep, and mine to guard, and mine to use, and mine to kneel before...The fortune of my spirit is not to be blown into coins of brass and flung to the winds as alms for the poor of spirit." -- Ayn Rand

Childhood Days
I am reading Satyajit Ray's "Childhood Days" - a translation of "Jokhon Choto Chilam" by his wife Bijoya Ray. Nice.

Tale of Two Cities
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way--in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

Classics are evergreen. The more I read them, the more I am surprised at the contemporary thought processing of the author's mind. The values and feelings are universal and timeless. The set up may be different but then that adds to the whole experience and fun !
I am reading Baburnama and Tale of Two Cities.
