Escape

Living with oneself, sitting still is an art. I realized I have some work to do on this front. I love to take the escape routes offered.

Forest Bathing

The Japanese have a name for everything important. Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese word for forest bathing or the process of taking in the essence of a forrest through the five senses. The one that stands out the most for me is the fragrance. The smell of a forrest or thick woods in the early morning hours - it is addictive. It is aromatic and works for me just like those aromatherapy essence oils, only better. Now those aromatherapy soaps, candles and oils seem fake in comparison to that smell that one gets to experience during early morning walks in the woods. This covid situation has been a blessing for me - work for home - it works for me. I have been able to take out time for activities I never knew I'd enjoy so much. Yesterday I spent 2 hours in the woods. I need to do more of this. I wish, I wasn't so tired and washed out today. I wish, there was a forest really close to my place. Ah, I just wish, I'd live close to nature.
