Nasadiya Suktam – na asat – Not the Non-Existant

The Grand Question of creation of universe is asked in the hymn of creation in Rig Veda (129th Hymn of 10th Mandala). The interesting bit about this sukta is that it is still unanswered today. Human race is still struggling with the question of how was the universe created and is maintained. Isn’t it interesting that Rig Veda calls out this problem statement so back in time? This kind of problem statement shows the complexity and thought processing of the people of those times. This is scientific and philosophical enough – much above the survival mode of human race.

Nasadiya Sukta in Hindi {Starting track of Bharat Ek Khoj}

Hiranyagarbha Sukta

Hiranyagarbha Sukta – Rig Veda (121st Hymn of 10th Mandala)

Is it not fantastic that Rig Veda actually tries to discuss the force that is beyond our comprehension, that which we do not know and shall never know – yet there should be one – for logic calls for it.

Paromitar Ek Din...

I had watched this movie Paromitar Ek Din, like ages ago. I may have forgotten the details of the movie but do recall that a non-conformist mother-in-law is a bit of a phenomenon for the newly wed daughter-in-law in the beginning and how only she is able to grasp the person behind the daunting personality.

It was beautifully portrayed though I do not have a heart to revisit it since it was pretty intense. I am in no such mood.

water

Water's (or any fluid) unique nature makes it flow down the slope. It cannot resist slope, it cannot ignore slope, it cannot consciously choose to stay away from slope. Hence it flows accordingly and creates its path, which is then decided not by the slope but water's own nature.

Water's unique nature is not decided by water. Yet an aware person knows what will happen to water in a certain kind of landscape. Probability of its direction of flow can be even predicted with some clarity - though it may or may not exactly follow the same path. Yet it will follow a similar path.

It is true for people too.

It all started with one man...

A story lost in time.

What happens to a heritage it's descendants do not want to be associated with. Yet sometime they can be found speaking of in hushed tones or bragging tones. Yet, no one wants to pursue it or claim it or be it or even elaborate on it.

The only way to end the memory of a painful time is to completely behave as if it never happened. It protects the coming generations. Choices are made to stay away, cut the connections, create new places, memories & stories.

The generation that faced the consequence will go one by one, taking the stories with them. Stories that are very intriguing, about places that are still there, about people who are still around - some of them known from far, very famous ones. Don't we all with time, reminisce more about our days gone by, yet this lot cannot speak of it without an associated sadness. Sometimes they speak about happier times with such joy and such clarity that we know that they have it all bottled up but they do not want the shadow of the past fall on progenies.

As an outsider, to me this seems fascinating, sad and courageous all at the same time. But only time will grant peace to the one connection that was completely shaped by the sequence of events.

Courage..

"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become."
--Steve Jobs

Like a love story... it finds its way...

So something crazy is happening to me. I am getting hooked to the changes that are happening at this particular place - changes to people, policies, processes, and products. It is as if I cannot take my eyes off even if I want to look away.

I get so engrossed in understanding these things that I am conveniently dropping other areas of less interest to me. I would not do that before. May be that is what a good team does, full of folks who are interested in their area of work as much as I am mine. So only thing a good leader has to do is to spot that enthusiasm in others for a particular area of work.

So I learn from my passions.

"And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it."
-- Steve Jobs

nightmare..

Oh the fright of a nightmare! I was still hungover from Hawaii & islands & tsunami. And then I dream that we were on a small streamer & the waves just grew around us like a wall... :|

Serenity

As we were wrapping up at a restaurant, waiting for the check receipt, we took turns to call out what defined our vacation highlight. Somehow, the selection by each person called out their personalities & an aspect of self.

Mine was serene. I think it had to do with the day.
