A number of signs that suggest that I need to think. Hard. And get it out of me. There lies my salvation.

The more you know the world, The more you know that redemption lies within.

Natural Principles

If the world around us is hell bent on doing things against every possible natural principle, what are we to do?

Everyday when I drive to work, I listen to the radio. And almost everyday once, I note the shallowness and materialistic approach to everything that is ever said on it. Lyrics of songs, any advertisement, any kind of short radio caller game, any jingle, even simple one liner news, gossip - everything reeks of a boring, brain dead society that thrives on only cheap thrills.

Where are the natural principles being discussed? There are only examples of things against the natural principles and they are so successful in the world today that it seems practically foolish to not to align to them. Natural principles as mentioned in the book are Self Awareness, Conscience, Independent Will and Creative Imagination.

Does the law of farm work here as well? If it does then it is very scary because we are building a society that will surely collapse under it's own weight of fabricated lie. All inputs to this society is junk. Absolute junk.

A New World

My heart just breaks to see her go
Her little figure against the door
She braves this new world on her own
As I call her name twice or so

She does not look back
Just walks slowly through
And my head screams out
Does she even know?

All the days that she will face
And all the ways that she will be brave
I will be always watching her
Wish I could be with her in everything

Stimulus and Response

"Between Stimulus and Response, there is a space
In that space is our power to choose our response
In our response lies our growth and our freedom"
Aleph, the reason of people in our lives. It makes one feel at loss of words.

I get these sudden bouts of panic where I want to drop everything that I am doing and run to do what I want. What I want to do will seem equally of no importance - just while away my time writing, traveling, spending a day alone - somewhere no one knows me.

Walk in the Woods

So she did it on purpose. Took that inviting, winding path in the woods that just diverged from the usual taken road. Her heart skipped a beat or two and a smile involuntarily skipped her. It was no major adventure but it was different from usual. She came to a low clump of trees - all meeting at the base and branching as one goes up. It was in her way so she took left from that path to another winding trail to her left and it led her to the lake. It was bright and sunny but not hot. And it was very quite. It was so near and yet she felt so far from everything she knew. She threw some stones in the water to hear the plop sound they make and smiled at them. And then she just sat down where she was standing. She had to take it all in. As she focused on water that was moving with the breeze, she got strange feeling one gets when one is looking at a moving train from the platform.

I had this wish and I had this want
To see the world and rush all around
I did most of it in the crazy days
I had the best of company

Conversation

A good conversation, the one that connects at the intellectual and personal level, is hard to come by. But once it happens, it keeps you awake thinking. It's the best form of friendship. It's the best kind of connection. It makes life worth living.

Everything slowly blurs and fades
Meaningful and Meaningless
What are we to do on days
When  these thoughts possess our emptiness

Monday, March 19, 2012

An image has stayed with me from our recent road trip. A red car on a wide, unpaved road with mountains in the backdrop and green fields on either side pausing for it's turn on the highway 101. And just next to that was a vineyard with fresh growing crops, all lined up in neat rows. As we rushed past them, each row greeted us and let us view it's pretty path.

The Weird World

I've seen castles made out of SAND,
Met people who believe destiny is engraved on the palms of their HAND.

I've seen people change their FAITH,
Experienced love changing into HATE.

I've seen people grow younger with AGE,
and a bird who wouldn't fly out of Open CAGE.

I've seen love being sold for MONEY,
People devastated inside, but outside they are FUNNY

I've seen the Unicorn fall in Love with the TOAD,
People who owned half the city now hit the ROAD.

I've learnt to expect the UNEXPECTED,
Perfection doesn't exist, we are all DEFECTED.

Everyone cries, some just hide their TEARS,
Coal turns into Diamond after thousand YEARS.

For someone, you are Just One in a MILLION,
and For others, you are another nobody in BILLION.
